TOKYO - 5 Days, 5 Nights. FIRST EDITION

In December 2011 I went on a trip to Tokyo to oversee the installation of an exhibition for rockarchive.com. While there I took the opportunity to photograph everything I could, everything I saw before my wide open, excited and mesmerised eyes. Tokyo, and I’m sure the rest of Japan is a visually luxurious treat! This book includes my favourite images form the 5 days and 5 nights. As I was there with no set theme or agenda or plan in making a collection of images, I have put them in no particular order, and there isn’t any text to go with them. I have tried to make the book visually like a comic with the use of graphic, detailed cropped images around main images and black lines separating all. I took inspiration from Daidō Moriyama in the way the images look, heavy, contrasty and dark.

All images shot on Ilford film, in a Nikon FM2 with a 50mm and 28mm lens.

There will be 50 copies printed in the first edition. To celebrate the first edition, each copy will come with a 20x20cm print numbered the same as the book. These 50 prints are printed just for this first edition and will not be printed again.

The Zine has 48 pages, natural paper 160gsm, 210mm Square. Digitally printed in black & white throughout, perfect bound PUR Binding. Cover: 350gsm, silk paper with Soft Touch lamination finish.

The print is a digital inkjet print, printed on smooth gloss, natural white, 335gsm, archival paper.

Book contains approximately 49 images.
